Frequently Asked Questions about Traditional Wardrobes and Artisan Bedroom Furniture
How are our Artisan wardrobes built?
To begin the design process, you simply book an appointment with one of our specialist consultants. The designer will work closely with you to understand your requirements and preferences, while providing traditional wardrobe design ideas for your bedroom. They can help you select the best materials and colour scheme to bring your vision to life.
Next, our designers will create 3D colour visuals of your Artisan bedroom furniture, refine any final details and arrange a site survey. Your project will be managed by the same bedroom designer throughout the entire design and build process so you have one dedicated point of contact.
We will initially work from the basic room measurements you provide, but we will carry out precise measurements when actually constructing your Artisan wardrobe. Once the master craftsmen at our Oxfordshire workshop receive the specifications, they will personally create each piece of your bespoke wardrobe, ensuring that it’s ready for installation. Every part of your traditional wardrobe is sourced responsibly and made on-site for full quality control.
Does John Lewis of Hungerford offer fitted wardrobes?
Yes, we offer fitted wardrobes. The size and arrangement of the interior compartments and drawers can be adapted to your individual requirements. Our Artisan wardrobes require a high level of personalisation and craftsmanship, which our designers specialise in.
How long does it take to fit a wardrobe?
Our current lead time for sourcing the materials and handcrafting your wardrobe is just six weeks. After your Artisan wardrobe has been installed, your designer will check to see you are completely satisfied with the finished product. Our first-class customer care is ongoing and we’ll thoroughly inspect your wardrobe 12 months later to check that you are still pleased with your installation.
