We'd love to share our passion and expertise for planning, designing and managing the change in your kitchen. While we are refurbishing the showroom we are still available for home consultations on request
I started my career in 2008 working for a Luxury Italian design consultancy on Kensington Church Street in London. Working in some incredible spaces and for some very discerning clients this gave me a good platform from which to develop. My time in London gave me a thorough knowledge of the industry and the multitude of elements that come together to create a kitchen. Working on some very unique projects for individuals and larger high-end developments I came across a plethora of design challenges. This gave me the experience I needed to utilise my creativity and think outside the box to offer customers a unique design solution and something different to the norm.
In 2013 I moved out of London and back to my home county of Buckinghamshire. I decided to broaden my horizons and make the transition from modern Italian kitchens to handmade British painted kitchens. This opened my eyes to another world of kitchen design with yet more styles and tastes to satisfy beyond just the modern and contemporary I had been used to.
I joined John Lewis of Hungerford at the end of 2013 keen to work for a company that is well established and has a good reputation for service and design. Also with the styles on offer this utilised my knowledge of now both contemporary and traditional kitchen design. During the last few years managing the showroom in Beaconsfield I have worked hard to build a reputation for a high-quality service both in the showroom and at the home. I take great care in ensuring my design and installs run smoothly and the end result is just what the client is expecting and more. I’m often found on site at various stages of the project, to be on hand for the client and their installer, keen to see how it’s all coming together!
I recently purchased my first house and have spent the last 6 months making it a home. The first project was a new kitchen. Having made the decision to install it myself, lay the floor tiles, and carry out the plumbing and electrical work my evenings were more than fulfilled! The kitchen now complete and new furniture in place I’m finally beginning to settle into home life. When not in the showroom I’ll be found on a long walk attempting to tire out our 1-year old Cockapoo and not succeeding!
Studying and graduating with a BA Honours Degree in Product & Furniture design, I have always had a huge interest and love for design in and around the home and have always been able to engage with a design which has a highly attractive aesthetic, whilst still giving the user its full functionality, and ease-of-use.
Throughout my years of study, I learnt a vast amount in regards to materials and their properties, designing for manufacture, and have explored various different CAD software platforms, which has enabled me to take a very technical approach to all tasks which I undergo, and have a larger understanding of how to ensure that an initial concept/design can be transformed into reality.
Working in a number of luxury retail environments, I know what it means to give someone the level of service they deserve, and how to always cater to a person’s individual needs. This background urged me to find myself within John Lewis of Hungerford. Starting within the company as a Support role, I have since developed and honed my skills, and progressed to becoming a Designer.
Designing Kitchens both that are practical as well as attractive, backed up with the fantastic quality that we offer, gives me a great sense of achievement, when seeing a project through from the initial concept development stages right through to the end result.
Outside of the showroom I have a keen enthusiasm for Horology, and understanding all aspects of watch design, as I am fascinated by the complexity of its workings, and how such attention and dedication can produce such a beautiful outcome!
