Wantage is a Historical Market Town in Oxfordshire, situated close to the Ridgeway that runs through The Downs. The famous Uffington White Horse chalk monument is only a few miles from here on the way to the Valley of the Racehorse – Lamborne where many a famous racehorse has been trained.
If you would like to stop for lunch there are some lovely pubs in the surrounding villages. Within the town The Bear Hotel offers a scrumptious lunch and dinner menu.
We look forward to welcoming you to our showroom.

I originally come from New Zealand and came over here to travel the world and haven't gone back. Now after 20 years with family here and on the other side of the world. During my time travelling I have undertaken many different jobs, especially jobs that involve meeting and working with new and interesting people.
My background is customer service and this is one aspect of my job that I love, making sure that when your new bedroom is installed that you are happy and love your new space. I am keen photographer and while my family was small I went back to college to study photography and achieved my City and Guilds qualification as well as my Royal Photography LRPS. This lead onto being a professional photographer for 10 years, specialising in Weddings, Family Portraits, Babies and Children and special occasions. Going into design was a great new step from this for me, and I love working with customers to design their fabulous new bedroom/dressing rooms. I have been one of our bedrooms designers since John Lewis of Hungerford started the bedroom range three years ago. One of the aspect of the job, I love, is the technical side of the job, finding out what will fit, (as lots of bedrooms have very tricky spaces), making it look great and giving the customer the space they need.
When not in the showroom I am sometimes on the road meeting my customers in their own homes. My spare time is made up of running the kids around, knitting amazing scarves, snoods, hats, blankets and jumpers for family and friends. Baking, photography, reading and having pot luck dinners with friends are also what keep me busy.
Bedrooms Showroom Manager/Senior Designer
I was born in Reading and grew up in a little Berkshire village in D H Lawrence’s old home. My main ambition in life was to become a kept woman (something I am still working on!!) but failing that the bright lights of London beckoned and I spent my early career in the city as a civil servant (not a role I was passionate about and that creative person was desperate to get out).
My flair for colour and huge pile of interior design magazines lead me to follow my heart and peruse a qualification in Interior Design. I currently run my own small, online interior design business and has designed homes in India, the Italian mountains, a penthouse apartment on the Isle of Wight and even a food court in Malawi. I balance this with my part-time administration role at John Lewis of Hungerford where I support my wonderful colleague Karen in the Wantage Bedroom Showroom.
I live with my husband, two gorgeous daughters, Lulu the dog and Sydney the cat near Marlborough in Wiltshire. Although there isn’t much spare time left I can be found discovering new dog walks, weeding the allotment, visiting my favourite places on the Isle of Wight, enjoying great company and food with special friends and dusting off my trainers and getting back to that body pump class.
We are absolutely delighted with our fitted wardrobe and airing cupboard door.
