I was born in Reading and grew up in Berkshire. I have always been interested in design and knew that’s what I wanted to do for a career (even though during school I thought about becoming a vet, but fortunately the animal world’s loss is the kitchen world's gain!). I have been a kitchen designer since graduating and received a BA Hons in Spatial Design in 2004, I've worked with JLH since 2011. I really enjoy helping customers create their dream kitchen. My personal taste for kitchen design leans towards the industrial look with striking dark colours and quirky vintage pieces, but with my vast portfolio of previous projects I am extremely capable of fulfilling any brief!
I currently live in Thatcham and in my spare time I can be found searching for interesting finds at antique markets and vintage fairs, my favourite being Kempton Antiques Market in Sunbury. As you would expect I am also a lover of interior design and have an ever growing scrap book for inspiration.
A lover of creativity I have taken courses in upholstery and enjoy making games to host for my family to play at Christmas and get-togethers. By self confession I'm better at designing kitchens than creating amazing meals in them, but I do enjoy the odd bit of baking.
I was born in Wimbledon many moons ago. I spent my early years in the UK but emigrated to South Africa and only returned to the UK after finishing high school. I’m extremely technical and my initial career (18 years) was spent with Audi as a technician (taking things apart and figuring out what makes them work, or more importantly making them work again).
My passion for creativity allowed for a change in career into graphic design and publishing for over 10 years. The “finished article” is what drives me onwards and I love to see satisfied customers at the end of a project. However in 2007 a chance meeting with a South African friend turned into an offer I couldn’t refuse – and so I have been designing kitchens for over 8 years. I understand how things work and I love to think outside of the box to produce clever stunning designs.
I have lived and worked in several countries around the world and can draw on many years of experience with different cultures and requirements. I now live near Reading with my wife and two teenage boys. You will find me to be very calm and understanding, nothing is ever a problem. When I do manage to drag myself away from designing you will find me happily watching motorsport, preferably anything with two wheels but as long as it has an engine I’ll be happy.
