Four Kitchen Trends for 2016

Are you looking to refresh your kitchen next year? Take a look at four of our favourite trends that look set to dominate interiors for 2016 - including some style tips from our very own kitchen designers…

Contemporary Classic

Create a heart-warming family hub within the home by embracing a contemporary interpretation of the quaint English kitchen.

One of our Kitchen Designers, Graham Jones recommends, ‘a new country kitchen should have clean lines without being stark’. For more inspiration, take a look at our entire Shaker kitchen range here.

Clever Storage

Ideas Make the most of your space with intelligent storage designs. Not only are they extremely practical, but also the overall aesthetic of your kitchen will be improved by tucking away everyday items.

Mixed Materials

Don’t be afraid to experiment with a subtle mix of painted cabinetry and natural materials, as it will encourage natural light to bounce around the room and create the feeling of space and openness. Beth Jones, one of our Kitchen Designers, explains "mixing materials is a great way to add your own style and design flair to your kitchen", whilst also being perfectly on trend.

Working with different textures allows you to create easy focal points in the room, for example a metallic sink will stand out against a matte surface, whilst a quartz worktop nicely complements painted cabinetry.

Painted Kitchens

Painted kitchens bursting with colour are set to be one of the biggest home trends for 2016. Not only can they be adapted to suit pretty much any space, but regardless of taste or style they are very easy to live with.

Fresh, clean colours such as the pastel pink seen in our Artisan kitchen brighten up a space, whilst darker colours as seen in our Pure kitchen make a striking statement.
